The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Management Section is pleased to announce the annual Hurricane and Safety Expo will be held from 9 AM to 2 PM on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Weeki Wachee Springs State Park, located at the corner of US 19 and SR 50 in Weeki Wachee.
This year we will feature a panel of meteorologists from the Tampa Bay area. The panel will discuss the upcoming hurricane season and answer questions from the audience. Come out and meet your favorite meteorologist!
The focus of the Hurricane and Safety Expo is education.
If you are a company with a product or service related to preparedness, response, recovery or mitigation from any hazard (hurricanes, tornados, wildfire, flooding, and home/personal safety and protection), we WANT you to join us at Weeki Wachee.
The Hurricane and Safety Expo is also a fun event for the entire family. Planned activities include: a K.I.D. Korner (Kids In Disaster), flood mitigation presentation, emergency vehicle displays, children’s fire safety house, fire extinguisher simulator, and “How to Safely Run and Maintain” your generator. Two generators, donated by the Wal-Mart Distribution Center, will also be given away.
