NOVEMBER 2012 PRESTON HOLLOW UPDATE AND REMINDER OF PHHOA ANNUAL MEETING/ELECTION OF OFFICERS

NOVEMBER 2012 PRESTON HOLLOW UPDATE AND REMINDER OF
 PHHOA ANNUAL MEETING/ELECTION OF OFFICERS
N O V E M B E R   27, 2012 @ 7 PM
On October 17, 2012 the PHHOA met at the Beautiful Mind Center with a turnout of 26 Preston Hollow Homeowners.  The meeting lasted an hour with good discussion about the possibility of a Bulletin Board to be placed on the common grounds within the Community.  After discussing pros and cons, a Motion was made not to erect the Bulletin Board.  The vote carried.
Joe Deller presented a copy of the ACC Design Guidelines with revisions which incorporated the newer Florida Statutes into the original document.  After review, the Board voted unanimously to adopt the October 2012 newly designed ACC Guidelines.  Each Board member signed the document that will be copied and distributed to each homeowner during the month of January 2013.  This project has been in the making for some years with input from past and present board members’ input; and Joe is to be commended for seeing it to completion.
In accordance with Preston Hollow By-Laws, a Notice of the General Meeting with the Financial Report and a Proxy was sent to all homeowners in October.
Three Board of Directors’ seats will be voted on at the General Meeting, so it is necessary to have a quorum of 1/3 PH homeowners present including Proxies… in order to conduct the business at this meeting.
Notify anyone on the Board of your interest to serve your HOA Community. A call or e-mail would be greatly appreciated in advance of the meeting.  However, open nominations can be made from the floor at the time.  Judy Thompson and Sharon Ricks have volunteered to serve for another term as their terms expire on December 2012.  Please show your support for Preston Hollow and show up to vote or give your Proxy to someone who will vote in your absence if you cannot attend, located at The Beautiful Mind Center, NAMI Headquarters, 10554 Spring Hill Drive.
Your Preston Hollow Board of Directors wishes for all of you and your families a safe and Happy Thanksgiving.
Sharon Ricks, Secretary

Water Conservation Incentive Program ends September 15th

The Hernando County Utilities Department has announced that time is running short for customers to take advantage of two water conservation incentive programs – the Rain Sensor Installation Program and the Low Flow Toilet Replacement Program.

The Rain Sensor Installation Program promotes residential outdoor water conservation by offering a $50 water bill credit for customers who have a rain sensor installed to their irrigation system. Participants must be a Hernando County Utilities Department water or water/sewer customer who irrigate with county supplied water, the home and the irrigation system must be older than 2001, and the new rain sensor must be installed by one of the participating irrigation contractors.
Call the Utilities Department to see if you qualify and to get the list of participating irrigation contractors.

In an effort to further promote water conservation in Hernando County homes, HCUD is offering a $100 water bill credit for replacing older toilets (high gallon per flush) with new water efficient toilets (1.6 gallon per flush). Participants must be Hernando County Utilities Department water or water/sewer customers, the home must be older than 1994, and the new water efficient toilet must be installed by one of the participating plumbing contractors. Call the Utilities Department to see if you qualify and to get a list of participating plumbing contractors.

Both programs will end September 15, 2012. For more information, call (352) 754-4705 or email: waterconservation@co.hernando.fl.us

County Keeps Once a week watering restrictions in place

After a short presentation by Alys Brockway with the utilities department concerning watering restrictions, Hernando County Commissioners voted to maintain the current watering restrictions. Currently, Hernando County residents are allowed to water their lawns once a week only. With the rain we have been getting recently, this has not been much of a problem. Just remember that if you are caught watering more than once a week, you can expect a visit from code enforcement.
