8-Session Water Awareness Series to Begin

Hernando County will begin its Water Awareness Series with the first presentation on Friday, October 4, 2013. Subsequent presentations will be held on a monthly basis through May, 2014. The series features topics related to water conservation and water quality protection. The first speaker will be Sylvia Durell, Hernando County Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ coordinator. She will present “Centuries of Gardening That Led to Florida-Friendly Landscaping™.

Ms. Durell's presentation will provide a snapshot of the evolution of gardening, including the formal and elaborate gardens of centuries ago, when informal landscape design became vogue and why Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ is right for Florida today.

The class is free but registration is required because seating is limited. To register, call (352) 754-4705, email waterconservation@co.hernando.fl.us or register online at http://2014waterawarenessseries.eventbrite.com
