As of this date Nov 1, 2013, I have not received a notice of the Annual Meeting nor a proxy. Carlos Mnrique
We got our notice and proxy in the mail. But we didn't get a copy of the HOA's financial info. We're supposed to get copies of the proposed 2014 budget, the 2013 actual revenues & expenses, our current financial status and the 2014 planned assessment a minimum of 30 days prior to the meeting per our By-Laws and Fla. State Statute. We hold the belief that this is helpful to know in advance as owners have questions. Plus, understanding the details of our financials may help improve member interest and attendance. We also didn't get the latest meeting reminder email distributed by the Board earlier this week to some. When we heard about it, we asked around the neighborhood. The half-dozen neighbors we asked didn't get the reminder either. There's no intention on our part to sound critical with this. Rather, we are identifying some disconnects so they do not reoccur. In any case, we hope that many are able to attend Tuesday's General Meeting. There are important topics to discuss such as the election of officers, finalize the 2014 budget and hopefully seek ACC volunteers. If unable to attend, you are welcome to turn over your signed proxy to any owner who plans to attend. Contrary to what you may have heard or read, owners are not limited to releasing their proxy only to a Board member. It's totally your choice.
Thank you,
Elaine Naser
