SUBJECT:HERNANDO COUNTY PROPERTY APPRAISER NEWS
DATE:10/2/2010

If you own property that you will be using as your permanent and primary residence on January 1, 2011, you could reduce the Assessed Value of your homestead property by up to $50,000. This could result in a tax savings of approximately $600 annually.
Our office is accepting exemption applications for the 2011 Tax Year until March 1st, 2011.

The Low Income Senior Exemption is an additional exemption of up to $50,000 for those 65 years old and above, have a current Homestead Exemption and meet the Total Household Adjusted Gross Income limitation (2009 was $25,780). You can call our office at 352-754-4190 for details on what you will need to qualify for the Homestead and Low Income Senior Exemptions.

Full details of all the available exemptions can be found on our website, under the Homestead and Other Exemptions tab at the top of the home page www.hernandocounty.us/pa
