Help Our Community!

Help Our Community!

Emily and Miller (at 237 Forest Wood Ct) would love to bring your non-perishable food donations when we go to the Soup Kitchen in Brooksville on Sunday afternoons. From 4-6 every Sunday at the American Legion on Fort Dade Ave, hundreds come for a free dinner and a bag of food. Our pantry has been depleted for the past few weeks as more people are in need.

If you have a couple extra cans of food, bags of rice, boxes of cereal or even fresh veggies - please drop them off at our house by the front door before 3pm on Sunday. If you want to donate money, I'll buy the food.

Every bit helps! Thanks!

Crime Watch Alert !!!!!!

A very alert and caring Homeowner on Knotty Pine Court confronted a young man walking on the sidewalk around 4:40 A.M early Sunday morning 3/8/09 acting suspicious. The young man who had friends in a 2 door sporty looking white vehicle with a spoiler on the back took off. But this caring and alert homeowner got their license plate number and called the police to report this. There have been many vehicle break ins in our area including at least five in Preston Hollow recently. Please Keep your vehicles locked or in the garage and a watchful eye out not only for yourself but your neighbors also.

A Message of Thanks

The Preston Hollow Board of Directors would like to thank Al Walker Internal Vice President for all of his hard work. Some of Al's many duties include making sure that the sprinkler systems are running fine and all the lights at the front entrance are on. Al has just replaced all the lights at the front entrance with cost saving environmentally friendly light bulbs. Keep up the great work Al.

HERNANDO BUSINESSES TO BE SHOWCASED BY GHCCC

“Live Here, Shop Here” is the theme of the Hernando Business Showcase to be presented by The Greater Hernando County Chamber of Commerce (GHCCC) on Thursday, March 26, 2009 from 4 to 7pm at Heffernan Hall, 20428 Cortez Boulevard in Brooksville. The event is open to the public, and admission is free.

More than 70 local businesses will set up shop to display their products and services. Business owners are prepared to answer questions and help county residents learn ways to save money by shopping locally. “It’s a great opportunity for people to explore and compare products and services all in one place,” says GHCCC Executive Director Pat Crowley. “Plus, it will be a lot of fun. We’ve received some wonderful door prizes from our sponsors.”

In past years, the chamber has hosted a business-to-business expo designed to help local companies network with one another. According to planning committee member Valerie Pianta, “This year’s event will focus more on the general community, providing opportunities to discover products and services that are available right in their back yard. Doing business in Hernando County helps keep jobs here and stimulates our economy.”

Residents and business owners are encouraged to attend the Business Showcase. Refreshments will be available from the Kiwanis Club of Spring Hill. For more information, contact the chamber at 352-796-0697 or visit their website at www.hernandochamber.com.
