A Notice from Sheriff Nienhuis

After learning of the events that occurred today at the Boston Marathon, Sheriff Al Nienhuis would like to take a brief opportunity to remind our residents to remain aware of their surroundings at all times. Although we are not a target-rich environment, all citizens should remain vigilant to their surroundings, especially as it pertains to neighborhoods and public gatherings.

The best person to notice something out of the ordinary is the citizen that lives or works in the immediate area. If you see, hear, or smell anything suspicious, please call your local law enforcement agency. Do not attempt to investigate the situation or the individual on your own; contact law enforcement immediately. Our citizens are the eyes and ears in our community and we rely on you. Please call if you need us.
