Water Conservation Incentive Program ends September 15th
The Hernando County
Utilities Department has announced that time is running short for
customers to take advantage of two water conservation incentive programs
– the Rain Sensor Installation Program and the Low Flow Toilet
Replacement Program.
The Rain Sensor Installation Program
promotes residential outdoor water conservation by offering a $50 water
bill credit for customers who have a rain sensor installed to their
irrigation system. Participants must be a Hernando County Utilities
Department water or water/sewer customer who irrigate with county
supplied water, the home and the irrigation system must be older than
2001, and the new rain sensor must be installed by one of the
participating irrigation contractors.
Call the Utilities Department to see if you qualify and to get the list of participating irrigation contractors.
In
an effort to further promote water conservation in Hernando County
homes, HCUD is offering a $100 water bill credit for replacing older
toilets (high gallon per flush) with new water efficient toilets (1.6
gallon per flush). Participants must be Hernando County Utilities
Department water or water/sewer customers, the home must be older than
1994, and the new water efficient toilet must be installed by one of the
participating plumbing contractors. Call the Utilities Department to
see if you qualify and to get a list of participating plumbing
contractors.
Both programs will end September 15, 2012. For more
information, call (352) 754-4705 or email:
